Lyndale Lutheran has a heart for giving and serving in our community and our world. As we have for 125 years, we gather for meaningful and varied worship and then the work of our ministry begins; using our resources and talents to serve our neighbors and care for God’s creation.

We gathered to worship, enjoying the music of Christian Nielsen and together exploring the familiar passage from John 14, one often heard at funerals, and reminding us our home is in God's abiding love.

We gathered for another 125th anniversary event, sharing Hats and Heritage on this 4th Sunday of Easter. Thanks to Steve Eckma fnor the continuing story of Lyndale, to Singleton Street for their uplifting music and to all who shared wonderful memories and food at our potluck. Hats off to Lyndale. Here for Good! Praise to our Good and Gracious God!

Lyndale Lutheran Sunday Worship 4.23.2023

Reviving the ancient tradition of "Bright Sunday" we gathered to continue our Easter celebration with Holy Humor Sunday. Christian Nielson's music was joyful and jokes were shared by God's children of all ages. We wondered together about "doubting" Thomas as well as the reality that the cross is indeed "foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." 1st Corinthians 1:18

Lyndale Lutheran 10:30 Easter Morning Worship

We gathered in our still darkened worship space for the dawning of Easter, unveiling the altar and the Easter garden and bringing in the lilies. Music by Lyndale's small but mighty choir was perfect. <br />Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed! Alleluia!

Lyndale Lutheran Sunday Worship, 4.2.2023

We continued our Lenten exploration of Love and Trust. Together we wondered about the raising of Lazarus; grateful that Jesus shows up at all OUR graves of grief and fear, shame and regret. Sometimes, as the author of our Lenten Devotional writes, "the way we remain faithful as we wait is by NAMING the pain and calling for Jesus to show up once more." Our Psalm today says out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD. I wait for the Lord. Psalms of lament, crying or struggling, doubting are still statements of faith – we don’t bother to cry out to someone we don’t believe is there.

Thank you to Christian Nielsen for sharing a service of reflection and meditation on the book of Job; together we wondered and learned how it is that Job's story speaks to Love, God's love and our love of neighbor - our Lenten theme this year. We rejoiced with Edward and Logan as they celebrated their first Holy Communion.
